PROFESSOR JENNY KITZINGER
Professor Jenny Kitzinger is the co-founder and co-director of the ‘Coma and Disorders of Consciousness Research Centre’ at Cardiff University.
I am an experienced lecturer, researcher, writer and academic leader and have authored over a dozen articles in the field of serious brain injury and served on the Royal College of Physicians working party on Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness.
I have delivered training to a wide range of hospitals, rehabilitation and nursing homes. I also led the development of a resource for patients’ families – which won a national award from the British Medical Association, and my work in this area has been recognised for its social and policy impact by the Economic and Social Research Council.
I am committed to supporting evidence-based policy, care delivery and decision-making and working with a variety of organisations to improve the treatment of patients, and their families and provision of support and training for health care professionals.
